BROADWALL 459 SE is a selective post-emergence herbicide combining a synthetic auxin (2,4-D) with ALS inhibitor (Florasulam). It ensures rapid absorption, translocation, and control of resistant broadleaf weeds, providing cleaner crop establishment.

2,4-D mimics the plant's own growth hormone, but at a dose the weed can't regulate, triggering uncontrolled, distorted growth in stems and leaves until the plant exhausts itself and dies, usually visible within a week as twisted, curling growth. Florasulam blocks a different process entirely, an enzyme the weed needs to build essential amino acids, which stops growth more quietly, without the dramatic twisting.

Grasses tolerate both actives far better than broadleaf weeds do, which is why this combination is selective for cereal crops like wheat and barley.

Apply once broadleaf weeds have emerged and are actively growing, ideally while small. Watch for drift, 2,4-D is notorious for moving off-target onto sensitive broadleaf crops in neighbouring fields, avoid spraying on windy days or near vegetable or vine crops.

There's no soil residual concern here, so it doesn't restrict what follows in rotation, but since florasulam shares its ALS mode of action with several other herbicides, don't lean on ALS-inhibitor products exclusively across your broadleaf weed program if resistance is a known issue locally.

2,4-D is prone to spray drift and vapour movement in warm conditions, avoid application on windy days and keep well clear of sensitive broadleaf crops, vineyards, and gardens downwind. Wear chemical-resistant gloves and eye protection when handling the concentrate.

Store in the original container away from direct sunlight, children, food, and livestock.
