HERBIFEN 340 EC is a dual-action pre-emergence herbicide designed for intensive vegetable production. It provides rapid foliar suppression of emerged weeds and residual soil activity against germinating weed seeds.
Its formulation allows uniform coverage, strong adhesion, and rainfast performance, ensuring vegetables are established in weed-free conditions, critical for maximizing early growth and yield.

Oxyfluorfen causes a toxic build-up inside plant cells that ruptures cell membranes on contact with light, burning down any green tissue it touches within one to two days, but it only affects what it directly contacts, it won't move through the plant or the soil to reach anything else. Pendimethalin works differently and more slowly, forming a treated barrier in the soil that stops germinating seeds from establishing a root and shoot in the first place.
Together you get a fast contact burn on anything already growing at application, plus a longer residual barrier against everything that germinates afterward.

Apply pre-plant, before the crop goes in, so the oxyfluorfen component can burn down any existing weed growth without risk to the crop, and the pendimethalin barrier has time to establish before germination begins. Don't disturb the soil surface significantly after application or you'll break the treated barrier pendimethalin relies on.
Because pendimethalin persists in the soil, check rotation restrictions before planting a different, more sensitive crop on this ground later in the season.
Oxyfluorfen causes rapid contact injury to green tissue, so avoid any spray drift onto the crop itself or neighbouring sensitive plants. Pendimethalin can volatilise in hot conditions if left on the surface, spray in cooler parts of the day.
Wear chemical-resistant gloves and eye protection when handling the concentrate. Store in the original container away from direct sunlight, children, food, and livestock.
