SERADO 240 EC

Clethodim blocks an enzyme that grass plants need to build fatty acids for new cell membranes, a pathway that broadleaf crops like onion don't rely on the same way, which is exactly why this product controls grasses while leaving the crop unaffected. It's absorbed through the leaves and moves systemically down into the growing points, roots, and rhizomes, so it reaches right through the plant rather than just burning the leaf surface.

Visible symptoms, reddening and death of the growing point, typically show up over one to two weeks.

Recommended rate: 0.5–1.0 litres per hectare

This product only works on grasses that have already emerged and are actively growing, it has no effect on broadleaf weeds and no soil residual activity, so time it to grass weed emergence rather than a fixed calendar date. Younger, actively growing grass is much easier to control than mature or stressed plants, don't wait until grasses are large or the crop is competing hard against them.

Since it targets a pathway broadleaf crops don't have, it's genuinely safe to use over the top of onion and similar broadleaf crops at labelled rates.

Wear chemical-resistant gloves and eye protection when handling the concentrate. Avoid spraying when grass weeds are under drought stress, uptake and control drop off significantly.

Store in the original container away from direct sunlight, children, food, and livestock.

Registered for use on labelled crops across East African markets, under the relevant national regulatory authority. Always read and follow the approved product label before use.
