MACHIZA 100 EC is a high-strength pyrethroid insecticide formulated for rapid intervention in outbreak situations. It is designed for scenarios where immediate pest suppression is critical to prevent catastrophic crop loss, such as sudden caterpillar invasions, beetle outbreaks, or migratory pest incursions.
The product is widely applicable across field crops, vegetables, and stored produce protection programs, but should be positioned as a short-term corrective tool, not a foundation product in resistance-prone systems.

Deltamethrin is a pyrethroid, it keeps the sodium channels in the pest's nerve cells locked open, so the nerve keeps firing continuously instead of resetting. That causes the fast tremors, paralysis, and knockdown pyrethroids are known for, usually visible within minutes to a couple of hours of contact.
It works on contact and by ingestion, giving both immediate knockdown and some residual protection on the treated surface.
Recommended rate: 5–8 ml per 20 litres of water, or 150–250 ml per hectare

This is the product to reach for when you need fast, visible knockdown under active pressure, you'll typically see affected insects stop feeding and drop within hours. That speed comes at a cost though, pyrethroids are broad-spectrum and hard on beneficial insects and natural enemies, so it's not the first choice if you're running a scouting-based IPM program.
Resistance to this class is well documented in several pests, so don't lean on it as your only tool across a season, rotate with a different mode of action group.
Highly toxic to bees and aquatic life, avoid application near water bodies and during flowering. Wear chemical-resistant gloves and eye protection when handling the concentrate, avoid inhaling spray mist.
Store in the original container away from direct sunlight, children, food, and livestock.
Registered for use on labelled crops across East African markets, under the relevant national regulatory authority. Always read and follow the approved product label before use.
