Pyriproxyfen mimics the juvenile hormone that keeps an immature insect from developing into an adult too soon. Treated nymphs receive the wrong signal at the wrong time and can't complete normal development, either dying during the transition or emerging as sterile, non-reproducing adults.

It doesn't act as a nerve poison and won't produce a fast visible kill, its value is breaking the pest's reproductive cycle over successive generations.

Recommended rate: 8–12 ml per 20 litres of water, or 250–400 ml per hectare

This is a patience product. You won't see quick knockdown, and that's expected, the real effect is fewer viable eggs and fewer nymphs surviving to reproduce over the following generations, which shows up as population decline over several weeks rather than days.

It works best applied while nymphs are actively present rather than after a population has already matured into adults, since adults are largely unaffected directly. Its mode of action is distinct from most conventional insecticides, making it a genuinely useful long-term rotation partner.

Low acute toxicity to most non-target organisms including bees, since it targets insect development rather than the nervous system. Wear gloves and eye protection when handling the concentrate as standard practice.

Store in the original container away from direct sunlight, children, food, and livestock.

Registered for use on labelled crops across East African markets, under the relevant national regulatory authority. Always read and follow the approved product label before use.
