Both actives block the same enzyme the weed needs to build essential amino acids for growth, without them the plant can't produce the proteins it needs and growth stops within hours, though visible death takes one to two weeks.
They're absorbed through both leaves and roots and move to the growing points, so they reach the parts of the plant doing the active growing rather than just the tissue directly sprayed.

Time this to weed emergence rather than a fixed date, and apply while weeds are still small, both actives work best on young, actively growing plants rather than established ones. This product carries a short soil residual, giving a brief window of activity against weeds germinating shortly after application, but it's not long enough to be a season-long barrier, and normal rotation the following season shouldn't be affected.
Both actives share the same ALS mode of action, so don't use this as your only grass-weed tool across consecutive seasons on the same block, alternate with a different mechanism.
Wear chemical-resistant gloves and eye protection when handling the concentrate, and avoid inhaling dust when mixing this water-dispersible granule formulation. Store in the original container away from direct sunlight, children, food, and livestock.
