LARVONIL 250 SC is a larva-specific caterpillar control insecticide designed for early-stage intervention in lepidopteran infestations. It provides rapid feeding stop and developmental disruption, ensuring strong crop protection with minimal non-target impact.
Tebufenozide 240 g/L + Emamectin benzoate 10 g/L
SC (Suspension concentrate)
IRAC 18 (Tebufenozide) + 6 (Emamectin benzoate)
Foliar spray
6–8 ml per 20 litres of water, or 150–200 ml per hectare
12 hours
Tebufenozide mimics the hormone that tells a caterpillar to moult, so treated larvae try to shed their skin before they're ready and die unable to complete it, a slower but very selective mechanism that leaves most beneficial insects unaffected. Emamectin benzoate acts faster, opening glutamate-gated chloride channels in the nerve and muscle cells so the pest stops feeding and becomes paralysed within hours.
Combined, you get a quick feeding stop from one active and a longer population-level suppression from the other.
Recommended rate: 6–8 ml per 20 litres of water, or 150–200 ml per hectare
| Crop | Target | Timing | Max |
|---|---|---|---|
| Cabbage | Leafminers | At larva stage | 3 |
Expect the emamectin benzoate side to show results within a day or two, feeding stops quickly, while the tebufenozide component's effect builds over the following week as larvae fail subsequent moults. Tebufenozide is one of the more selective options available for caterpillar control on leafminers specifically, worth knowing if preserving parasitic wasps and other natural enemies matters to your program.
Rotate out of this combination after one or two generations rather than relying on it continuously.
Emamectin benzoate carries real aquatic and pollinator toxicity, keep well clear of water bodies during mixing and application, and avoid spraying during active bloom. Wear chemical-resistant gloves and eye protection.
Store in the original container away from direct sunlight, children, food, and livestock.
